Peter Murphy

Peter Murphy was appointed Regional General Manager, Southern Region on 1 October 2026.

Peter brings more than 30 years of industry experience and has been with Alex Fraser since 1996. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of Alex Fraser, a role he held from 2010, leading the business through a period of significant growth, operational expansion and transformation.

Under Peter's leadership, Alex Fraser expanded its network of recycling and asphalt operations, strengthened its position as a leader in recycled construction materials and successfully transitioned into the Heidelberg Materials Group following the acquisition in 2018.

Throughout his career, Peter has drawn on lessons from complex projects across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia, applying global best practice to advance recycling and sustainable construction solutions in Australia. He has played a pivotal role in driving circular economy initiatives, operational excellence and long-term growth across the business. As Regional General Manager, Southern Region, Peter is focused on building on the strong foundations across the region and continuing to drive performance, growth, innovation and sustainable outcomes for customers, communities and the business.

Peter holds qualifications in Logistics and Operations Management and Commerce from the University of Southern Queensland, graduating with a Dean's Commendation. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
