Heidelberg Materials’ joint venture Cement Australia acquires BGC Cementitious

Cement Australia, a joint venture between Heidelberg Materials Australia (HMA) and Holcim Australia, has successfully acquired the cement operations of the Buckeridge Group of Companies (BGC) in Western Australia.

As part of the transaction HMA, has acquired BGC’s ready-mixed concrete (RMX) and associated logistics operations at Bassendean. This strategic location enhances HMA’s RMX footprint in Perth and will enable HMA to deliver a more responsive customer experience.

Phil Schacht, Chief Executive of HMA, said “This acquisition marks a pivotal step in our strategic growth trajectory in Australia allowing us to further strengthen our capability in an attractive, high-growth region and reinforces Cement Australia’s position as a key player in the national cement industry.”
