As part of our 20-Year Club 2025 celebration, Christine looks back on her 20-year journey with Heidelberg Materials Australia and the curiosity, opportunities and people that guided her career.
How it started
What initially brought you to the company?
It was a case of good timing. I had been working as a systems accountant and became more interested in systems work. I wanted to move into IT but a role was not available at the time. Jim Fotoulis mentioned Hanson were recruiting for a Business Systems Analyst role and the timing aligned.
What was your first role and how has your journey evolved?
I began in Business Systems Support then moved through OneIT, HA-Digital and HMA-Digital. I held Business Systems Analyst roles across Finance, Cartage and Plant Maintenance, Quote to Cash and Sales and Marketing. I was seconded to the UK for the “Solid Rock” SAP implementation, then joined the global IT team as a Business Partner before moving into my current role leading Corporate Services & Governance.

Advice and looking ahead
Your advice for someone starting their journey?

With technology evolving fast, anything can happen, so I take each project as it comes. Personally, I am looking forward to another overseas holiday next year.
